Mental disability is more danger than physical disability

Mental desease/ illness/ disorder are caused by genetic ,biological, economic, social, environmental. If it is not diagnosed/ cared/ recognised then create major problem i.e domestic violence, antisocial behaviour, loss of productiveness and lot of marginalized and stigmatized.
National mental health survey(NMHS) finding of suffering from mental illness increase. Suffering mostly- any type stress disorder and neurological disorder. Nearly 20% of Indian population above the age of 18 mental disorder. In past globalised world burden of mental disorder raising individualism, due to want to establish economic identity and social identity. Global burden of desease increase, disability adjusted life years increase (number of years of life lost due to illness. It's not communicable desease, it's non communicable desease. Mental disability sum short of anxiety order, sleep disorder insomnia, memory loss( dementia),bi polar disorder, phobia, alcoholism and suicidal disorder. Why Indian population have a high prevalence by mental disorder- become sustainable development Goals-3 says public policy maker means health for all( physical and mental health both) . If non communicable desease decrease the mental well being become good. In India adequate mental medical infrastructure is not available. Government try to make easy i.e availability means psychiatrists clinical psychologist mental hospital, Accessibility means easy approach towards mental hospital, and affordability means easy available of medical drug. But prasent time stand in bottom, in these facility. Totally can not blame only ruling government but  multiple factor work i.e family unawareness what is running in market and create lot of force in competition qualified, social media create lot of narrative. High treatment gap- income disparity, rehav centre, easily not available medical insurance, out of pocket expenditure. Not easily available basic drugs ( diazepam and alprazolam). Legislative law are not adequate some availble but not properly care. Young worker labour minimum wage, suicidal tendency increase. Elderly people- mental health problems loneliness, sadness. Young professionals- facing the threat of hyper competition of automation being unemployed. Young women mental health issues- gender discrimination, patriarchal system, cyber bullying. Parmanand katara case- right to health is a fundamental right, proper protocol to treat mentally ill person in a proper human way. Today individuals need intellectual development plus neural development. More public policy initiative to address mental health issues in India.                     Written by - Aman vikal
