The race of society and the loss of self

In India relentless race has taken hold of society- one whose direction is visible to all, yet whose destination remains uncertain for most. Changing needs and raising expectations have redefined the meaning of life itself. What was once limited to basic needs food clothing and shelter has now expanded in to a pursuit of branded life styles, luxury and constant comparison, blurring the line between needs and wants. Amidst this race millions of young individuals stand in long ques for even a single job opportunity. This intense competition has given rise. The consequences of this race are not merely economic but deeply psychological and physical stress anxiety and depression are raising at an alarming rate. The competition has become so intense that individuals are no longer competing with others alone but are increasingly losing to themselves burdened by expectations failures and unfulfilled aspirations.

In such an environment the real question arises are we truly running to fulfill our needs or have we be drawn in to a race that ultimately leads only to exhaustion Dissatisfaction and the loss of the self.              Society has constructed a narrow definition of success. Where Individuality, passion and inner fulfillment are often overshadowed. They forget to ask what they truly want. When child born then each and everything conditioning begins `become this, achieve that, be better than others these instruction slowly shape the child mind. Instead of discovering who they truly are they are placed on a predefined path set by society and family expectation. As they grow, this guidance turns in to pressure. The child is no longer learning out of curiosity, but out of obligation, dreams are no longer self made, they are inherited. In this process individuality quietly fades away. This phenomenon even more deeply rooted in rural areas where traditional belief and societal norms are often stronger and less questioned. The definition of success is more rigid and deviation from it is rarely accepted. Children are guided some time some times forced in to roles that align with collective expectations rather than personal aspirations.

In this continuous race, the child grows in to an adult who may achieve success in society eyes yet feel disconnected with in. The tragedy is not failure but the loss of self before one even gets the chance to truly under stand it. I come from a rural background. I have struggled a lot but I have not been selected from any job. People call me loser. The relentless race of society has a dark underbelly. Many people overwhelmed by expectations and pressures succumb to dis pair. Tragically some take their own lives when they feel they can not measure up. Others falls in to illegal activities or are exploited, trapped by circumstances they never chase.

This race does not only steal time or place it often strips away dignity freedom and safety. Individuals are pushed to extreme limit. And the consequences are devastating mental health crises social injustice and personal tragedy. In this endless competition the true cost is human lives and the loss of basic rights. Society obsession with achievement often over looks the silent suffering it causes. It is essential to realize that life is not merely a competition. True success lies in self awareness pursuing ones passions and living authentically. Only by stepping out of society's blind race can we reconnect with our true identity.
